how do I assign half of the keyboard to one synth and the other half to another?
say i make 2 really gnarly wobble bass patches and i want to basically play the same octave, on two adjacent octaves? this way I can interweave two basses for a sicker bass.
i got an Oxygen 8v2. anyone doing this?

ableton? or FL?
if ableton its dead simple
instrument rack
2 chains
instrument in each
click "key" and set key ranges
you could have a synth on each note if you really wanted haha

oh then you just transpose one of the synths to match by bringing it down an octave or whatever

What you're asking about is called a 'keyboard split'. I'm unsure if the Oxygen keyboards can create splits via hardware, so you'll need software than can create the splits for you.
If you're really stuck, make your two bass sounds using which ever synth you use and then resample an entire octave from each bass. Shove your samples in a sampler and use the keymapping facility of your sampler to set the root note for each sample to the origianl note you sampled. This way, you'll have two octaves worth of bass samples from two different basses lined up side by side along your keyboard.
Another thing to explore is whether you can control each synth with a different midi channel. If midi channel 1 controls bass 1 while midi channel 2 controls bass 2, you may be able to do the split via a midi mapping tool. Search the KVR plugins database & google for midi mapping tools!

FL - create a layer channel, make both basses children of that layer. You can set the root note and keyboard range of each child. Piece of cake brohams.

Does anyone know how to do this with reason 4? Preferably Thor and Malstrom?

combo mode or use midi to assign some octaves to midi chan 1 and one synth to, rest midi chan 2 and to second synth
seriously my advice to loads of people on here is to delve into midi

This is very easy in Reason.
Create a Combinator.
Create a linemixer into the combinator.
Create whichever synths you want to use underneath the linemixer. They will automatically wire themselves into the mixer for you.
Open the combinators programmer panel.
Click on Each synth in turn and set the hi and lo keyrange parameters at the bottom of the programmer. You can also use the drag handles to edit the keyranges as you would editing the sample keyranges in the NNXT.
You can also do velocity sensitive splits in the combinator...
