New desktop based setups?

As my laptop keeps dying on its arse, I'm looking for a new Windows (preferably vista) based setup.
Is this worth the whack, or can you fellas reccomend me any other websites that offer the same customisation options and a setup as thorough as the link below?

I'm sure people probably get sick of hearing this, but is there any reason you can't DIY?
As customisable as you want then, and cheaper

I dyi'ed and it has been a stunning success. Only problem was the fan on the graphics card killed itself like a month into it. Other than that, literally no problems, this thing was cheap as hell awfully powerful, and most importantly QUIET.

you really don't need a gfx card with a fan for an all audio setup though, just multi monitors out

7 destroys xp in pretty much every way for me personally, and my machine isn't particularly high spec (4200x2, 2gb ram)

All gfx cards that I looked at had fans. This one burned out, I ripped it out, and let it ride... no problems. I've got more fans in my computer than a puerto rican whorehouse. No offense to the PR, just late night attempt at humor.

Aye, the customisation is one part of the DIY that is appealing, but as last night proved, I can't even clean my laptops cpu fan without it going tits up and literally dying on me, never to turn on again. haha
So there is no way I'd be able to get it set up like that company does.

I wouldnt advise cusom build. If yo =u buy off a supplier at least they have tested it and know it all works well as a WHOLE and you get a warranty

More time is involved in research when you diy. Might cost more in time than you save by not buying a high end customized audio pc, prolly depends on the market value of your time.
But in the end I think it is better, you get exactly what you want, you know all of your parts for future upgrade considerations, and your system is built and tested by someone who actually gives an f if the system works, and works well.
Anyways.
