Hi all. I'm a relative n00b to the forum, so forgive me if this topic has been discussed before or if ive placed it in the wrong section.

In recent years, I've found myself keeping only a handful of favorite tunes and dj mixes and much more traditional music on my ipod. I'm curious, what music you all enjoy listening to when you're not enjoying dubstep and other genres of dance music?

I'm a big fan of ealry 70's and late 90's punk rock, all three waves of ska, mid-nineties alternative and hip-hop, among other things.
A few fav artists are Nirvana, NOFX, Bad Religion, The Toasters, Weezer, System of a Down, Buddy Holly, Sinatra, Notorious BIG, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, etc, etc.

there is another section on this forum, it is called "other music" and in it you will find other music that dubstep forum users listen to.. Also the hiphop and funky section would be other styles of music that ds forum users listen to.

seems like a good discussion for the dubstep board tho, no?

other music, mostly jazz or certain bands which are guilty pleasures  also a lot of jungle and dnb cuz a lot of my friends spin that style and i see it out on the town a lot. mostly i like to check local things more than anything. if a good act is coming i will check it out. i pop on classical piano vinyl sometimes or even dark side of the moon vinyl. i also try to listen to as much good garage as i can. sub fm has some different stuff goin on sometimes...

Recently I have mostly being listening to House, all kinds really, Sinbad's shows on Deja Vu 92.3 have really been top notch recently.

Tech House is my favourite at the minute though, tracks from Deep Teknologi and Scratcha have been doing it alot. Jam City=Wicked aswell!!

Funky wise, Funky Hackman/Doc Daneeka/Julio Bashmore etc etc, so many to mention. This forum's funky producers are some of the most talented I have seen in the last half a decade. Not joking.
