Deaf dubsteppers?

Post by triac » Thu Jan 12, 2006 8:08 pm

Anyone heard of deaf people going to a dubstep dance? A mate of mine told me about a night he helped put on aimed at the deaf, at Plastic People, where they got shitloads of extra rig in to make sure everyone could feel the bass good and proper.

Which makes me think dubstep bass weight is the perfect choice for deaf clubbers...
Bass is maternal, when it's loud I feel safer

I used to work with a deaf guy who loved raving, there are meant to be quite a lot of deaf events like that. Your right its all about the bass. :o

Yeah I had a mate back in cornwall who was deaf.. I used to take him to Legends of the dark black cos it was the only soundsystem he could "hear".
He told me he could feel every note..

The first time I took him out he litterally wept on the dance floor.

Really postive things for real.

DJ's who play at those deaf parties must have a really vast collection of music.

You would have to make sure you played tight rhythms and varieties of frequencies to keep the people moving.

Beethoven as well continued to compose long after he went deaf,
The different levels of bass and sub-bass must make it much more interesting for deaf people than other forms of music
Don't talk to me about soundsystems, I've been to Leeds...
