Big up all the grime and dubstep producers.

Ive been with the dubstep scene ever since it started, but alls i do at the moment is mix mp3s on my pc. I really want 2 get into music production but im not sure how to begin.

Could u please set me in the right direction to making my own tunes i.e. what programs do i need and what sort of hardware as well.

Your advice will b very much appreciated and i hope 2 hear from u soon.

best of learning with soming like fl studio( alot of peeps use this as prefered choice). then as u learn wot is wot move onto to either cubase( pc) or logic (mac only)

Or try Reason: very, very simple and effective.
You might also want to try Live at one point.

I myself use Pro Tools, Reason and some times also Live.

i'd recomend reason aswell. It's got everything you need to make a good track right there and it is very user freindly. It is quite limiting, but you are not going to notice that for a while if you are a novice. By the time you are ready to step up to a more capable, VST compatable sequencer, you should have a few half descent tracks under your belt and have an idea what your style is. You can re-wire it to cubase or live or whatever to make the transition easier, bring in elements from the new sequencer one at a time without being throwin in the deep-end. You can get some pretty thick sub out of subtractor if you try. Maelstrom can make some gnarly sounds too.

Read as much material on Digital Audio Recording and MIDI production as you can get your hands on to start. Do some reasearch as to which books out there you feel will best suit your needs. Check Amazon.com for books and reviews. You can also find good used books on Amazon for discounted prices.

Talk to some friends who are into production. Your passion and thirst for knowledge will be your best allies. In the meantime, download some demo versions of 'All In One' production software such as: Propellerheads Reason and Fruity Loops Studio. Both of those websites have great production tips and tricks for beginners and seasoned veterans alike.
