(logic /mac users) What do you write your bass on?

Im using Albino2 and or Albino3 for the basslines.
Also the Phatmatik sampler for my beats and samples....
Can anyone recomend some other programmes for bass.
ps. Cammel Phat makes everything sound PHAT

yea i use the es1 to make subbass sines and i jus export and sample/sequence the tune in reason, bounce out the tracks and mix down in logic. add a bit of compression and a low pass filter on your sub-bass somewhere around 40-80hz and high pass filters on everything else above that and your sub-bass will have enough room to be big w/o interference.

occasional use of ES2 or EFM, but 99% of the time it's all from EXS24.
Even the ES2 n EFM bits usually end up there.
I need Kontakt badly.

I personally like to use the EXS24 layer a couple of basic tones and there you go... If your on Logic 7 it comes with all the basic tones you need to build unique & gnarly b-lines!! The es1 & es2 are also very wicked!! I would like to try albino though as well

Yeah the exs24 has a really nice sine as it basic sound if you load it in without any samples

es1 for the wobble, exs24 stock test-tone for the sine-y sub (more for DnB than dubstep but distortion/etc can get it there), and sculpture... oh my god...

not always a fave for sub, but nice for writing bass lines due to its simple uncluttered layout, the pro53's one of my faves. very stripped down not to many paramenters and its got a delay you can actually use on b-lines (due to cut-offs) without it sounding ridiculously cluttered and muddy.

i tend to use, either my outboard sampler (korg ESX-1), albino, or something wacked out i make in reaktor.
compress to taste, and low pass the bass at about 65 - 70 hz. maybe a LITTLE additive EQ if it needs it, but usually not.
sometimes ill distort it for those upper harmonics, and so it hits harder, then ill low-pass it at 65 - 70.
