Due to a pretty tight budget i'm looking to buy some equipment from the USA and ship it over here, was just hoping for some advice off anyone who has done this i.e. trusted US dealers etc. Safe.

By the time you get it shipped, pay customs charges and import tax, it'd be cheaper to buy it over here.

find a contact in the usa to buy it for you and ship as a gift, and pay the cost via paypal
but you didn't hear it from me

Check out sites like
http://www.shipito.com &
www.myus.com
They let you buy items in the states and then they send it to you. I've never used them but an Aussie friend of mine is looking into it, she hasn't used them yet either but it seems interesting.

yea but if you can find a trustworthy usa member on here to do it for you, like i did for a couple people not on here but in uk for komplete 5 (note i refuse to use paypal now so don't hit me up unless you can do a wire transfer) it's gen alot quicker and in my case i got the soft at cost since i'm good like that and don't mind using and abusing my discount

shipping in the states, even just domestically, has nearly doubled in the last 5 years. not awesome at all.

I recently bought my monitors and interface from sweetwater in America to Australia, look up your country's inport laws, I found mine on the government's website. Turns out there was a limit of $1000, above that you have to pay a hefty import tax fee. I had to get the monitors in separate shipments about 3 weeks apart. Still turned out way cheaper than buying the same stuff locally. They don't even have the monitors on sale here yet. Sweetwater was a really awesome company, they actually call you to organize everything and answer any questions.
