Controller but no audio interface

Post by pauliek » Mon Oct 19, 2009 12:29 pm

Hello guys. So ...yeah , basically i want to buy a midi keyboard for about 60 -70 $, but i don't have money for an audio interface . I'm thinking that i can use the keyboard with ableton + ASIO drivers and get no big latency. So what do you reccomend ?

P.S - sorry for my bad english . Eastern European here. :P

You can definitely get a cheap/used controller on ebaby or something for less than $100. There's an old mini-controller I use I found new for $25. :-)

For your soundcard, look at http://www.asio4all.com/ . ASIO drivers that work with most onboard soundcards.

when you set your audio buffer in ASIO, smaller is better. make it as small as possible without any underruns. you will hear underrun as a clicking sounds, sort of like an error. small buffer is less latency
