The Hardcore / Junglistic Tunes Skream played in Brighton

Post by Whistla » Mon Oct 19, 2009 3:19 pm

ez
i know its a week ago, but ive been killer sik (which i think i caught on the night going by reports from other people, but thats another story!)
i was wondering what the Hardcore / Junglistic-Hardcore tracks that Skream dropped @ Superdubpressure were.
Pokes pulled one up at least twice.
Are they new?
I'm guessing they are as he played them off CD.
I mean if they are old, why didnt he play the vinyls? which makes me think even more that they are new.
anyone got any insider info??

hardcore means so many things in music now, what do you mean by hardcore?

there's punkrock hardcore, there's the old rave music, then there's shitty happyhardcore you get now, then there's that nosebleed dutch stuff and also that hardcorebreaks/breakbeat stuff

lol i mean hardcore
as in what i wud expect people to assume hardcore is: 140-ish LAYERED breakbeats and pianos with subbass.
if i meant happy hardcore i wud have said "bounce-core" as thats what it is.
if i meant punk i wud have said punk.
the dutch stuff is Gabba, not hardcore.
same with breaks, i wud have said breaks :D
hardcore is hardcore and is played in a rave. rave is not a genre of music, its a place music is played :D
;)

and i dunno gwa, u got a link?
they were pretty "happy" as in they had uplifting pianos etc.. rather than what i assciate with the J-Tek crowd (darker 93-esq sound)
these sounded more 92 style.

i dont think it's burning up.

it has a female vocal that goes

you got me burning up... up... up.. up you got me burning up etc etc

not so much piano, more breaksy drums

big tune. the flip is memories of 3rd base.

Skream played loads of jungle/ rave style tunes that night and the Zomby one was deffinatley one of them.

He also played one that had the words "are you ready for this thing there" before the drop - Anyone know what that tunes called? Pretty sure its a remix of some sort too
