Drum Pad controller recommendations?

Post by shonky » Mon Nov 27, 2006 8:55 pm

Thinking of getting an Akai mpd 16 to tap rhythms into the emulator x2 as I'm finding the keyboard not as responsive as it could be.

I was wondering if anyone else is using this as a rhythm controller, or if they've got any other drum pad controllers to recommend.

The only thing I'm a bit bothered about is having to keep changing between input devices, as it means saving banks and reloading each time which may be a bit of a pain. I'm using Logic 5.5 on PC so if anyone knows if it's possible to set up multiple midi input devices in the environment, that'd be well handy.

I use the M-Audio Trigger Finger. Very happy with it. I use it live and in the studio, not a problem to report.

The Korg microKONTROL is wonderful. It has a 16-note pad as well as 8 faders and rotary knobs. Check it out...
