It's telling that former Japanese colonies like Taiwan are beginning to prosper whilst neighbouring American colony the Philippines is fucked (not calling the Japanese saints btw)

I lived in Finland for 7 years. Education was free, even for me as a foreigner and I managed to get a degree. I worked in several places as a freelance and I had time to put up a couple of exhibitions. I got a grant for my "artistic activity" as well as financing for exhibitions. It was all nice and smooth, except, as beautiful as that place is, it's dark in there for a long time of the year and that causes depression. When it doesn't snow in the winter it makes it even worse, because the little sunlight we got had nothing to reflect from, which made it even more grim. There is a very high suicide rate, alcoholism rate and knife crime rate.
After 7 years and getting to the state where I wasn't able to get up in the mornings, I decided it's time for a change. For beautiful, sunny London, where I'm doing a job I'm well overqualified for and have no time for art whatsoever...

Yeah usually we don't make stuff like this haha... Cali is great though
Looking at pictures, Norway always seemed like an interesting place to live... never been there though.

Seems about right, tbh. Scandinavia has always been my favourite non-British part of Europe... beautiful people, beautiful scenery, proper seasons, plenty of fish, nice coastlines.... hang on...
