I've tried to do my sub-bass in many different ways, but i've never made it sound exactly like my midrange bass, cause i think it would be a little lazy. But i've been listening around and it sound like many producers do this. Is this wrong/right, how do you do it?

there is no right or wrong answer....i do both. or maybe ill just let some 808's bump under the midrange bass. or maybe ill start with the midrange and then drop in the sub under for emphasis. maybe there wont be any midrange at all. try letting your track tell you what to do and dont think about it.

I'm struggling with this too. It works better for me to do something different with the sub then with the midbass, but I have a lot of trouble making it gel together. When I try to let the sub follow the midbass, I end up with boring basslines :(
