Plastician was meant to be playing in Leeds at Gatecrasher 7 last night. we turned up at half 9 and waited till 11 to no avail.
Wouldn't mind an explaination from anyone who knows

As far as i can tell it was a promotional flop. hatcha played there a week or so before and the promotion just wasn't right, think they probably were concerned about making a loss so cancelled. I would have reached too but i heard earlier in the day it was off.

i did not see any promotion for hatcha at all... what night is this?

also, promotion is diabolical in leeds anyway. yeah, major nights are covered, but i want to go to the smaller nights. i want to support the locals who are trying to do something for the scene. i dont live off facebook, i check the events page constantly. but im always hearing, MAN DID U GO SEE XXXX LAST NIGHT, IT WAS ILL. no i didnt, i didnt hear about.

I find it tends to be the opposite, most decent nights big or small I find out about one way or another & i'm over in Hull

We had Brackles and Mount Kimbie (live) last Friday at wire, was amazing!

Some good names coming through too

Brackles and Joker at bigger than barry at some stage
Loefah / emalkay at mine in november
cluekid / distinction on soon at hi fi i think

and of course exodus / subdub!

apparently floating points was in town on sunday too! getting spoiled up here

yeah i'm fully aware we're spoiled, but like i say. smaller nights. also, i keep seeing funky names everywhere. big look

A lot of the smaller nights in Leeds are either badly promoted so no one turns up so they cancel every event after that and are never heard from again or they do it properly and end up as a corner stone in the Leeds scene e.g Ruffage. Everyone started somewhere

I was informed early last week that this gig was cancelled. I informed people the only way I know how via my twitter (@djplastician) and my Facebook (www.facebook.com/plastician).

I'm sorry to hear the word did not spread to everyone.

For the record I've been DJ'ing for 10 years now and been gigging dubstep full time professionally for longer than anyone else in the world, and I have NEVER missed a gig or arrived late for a set.

If you turn up to one of my gigs and I'm not there its almost certainly not down to me not turning up.

If anyone on this board does check out my gigs or is interested in catching them, twitter and facebook are a good look as I try to use them as informatively as possible (although I can get carried away on twitter sometimes!!!).

Theres nothin worse then waiting for a DJ to turn up, and watching the minutes go by. Especially when there the last set of the night and its a small venue that will be closing promptly. I know sometimes its unavoidable (with traffic etc and its mainly agents booking sets too close together) but I've noticed plastician is allways punctual, especially to set up the equiptment and that. True pro

i dont think they will of had it revoked. there wasnt much drug use in there, ramma ques every weekend. would like to hear more though

I once discharged myself from hospital after having an appendicitis operation to play at Herbal. I had to pull over in my car on the way home to be sick.

Probably more silly than anything but its not good practice to let people down, especially as a DJ

my mate phat pat played with you in liverpool and he said you had said that you are never late for a set and have never missed one, it's a big look i think and props for a it, i hate people who are late!

I'm not doubting Plastician. The doors to the venue never even opened so i'm gonna guess it wasn't to do with him. we had a killer night anyways involving electro, a mystery hummer, and a strip club.

plastician is back in leeds in feb so not that long to wait
