$1,000 mastering plug for free [not craqued]

It's a 'Stereo Haas Effect Ping Pong Inverter' that normally costs $990.00, but some enterprising soul has re-created it in SynthEdit and is giving it away free. The A/B tests between the two are amazingly close.
Nice to get summat for free.

I've read the patent for the Katz K-Stereo thing and it isn't that revolutionary a technique - just very well implemented. I'll certainly look at this, suprised this is the first I have heard of it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

ok so sorry as i am totally stuck with this little bit as have never been at a proper mixing desk and using live 8. i am asssuming as this is a mastering plugin i am gonna put it on the master, like izotope ozone? or as below it says "track insert" so meaning just one track if i wanted to widen my synth track or whatever. not at homeyet to hear for myself....
and of course if i get track sent to professional mastering service i'll remove it first. You can even use the plugin on an aux bus instead of the more typical track insert because SHEPPi gives you full control over the dry signal that's usually mixed in. (Try doing that with the Algorithmix plugin.)

Re: $1,000 mastering plug for free [not craqued]
serious question what exactly is a "Stereo Haas Effect Ping Pong Inverter" and how does it make my beats sound mad phat and crispo?
Re: $1,000 mastering plug for free [not craqued]
i tested it out. and i like to think my hearing is still in good condition. and i can usually tell the difference with other stereo wideners. but on my krk's i couldn't hear much difference. except with a couple of settings, where i hear my bass drum get a little bit of an audible delay on it.
maybe it's just so subtle i can't hear it. will try again later with things up louder.

I tried this today and noticed the exact same thing.
one that was noticeable was the 'Deep and Wide' setting or whatever it was called.

Re: $1,000 mastering plug for free [not craqued]
It's not a limiter or anything
The idea is that it restores/brings out ambience in a recording that might have been lost for whatever reason. It uses very short ~30ms delays panned one way (say, L) and at the same time inverted on the opposite side (R), following that with another timed delay on the other side (R), inverted on the other side (L) etc etc. Very specific combinations of dlays, all inverted on the opposite side giving complete mono-friendliness but bringing out ambience.
Using out of phase content can make things seem further out than they really are, beyond the speakers even. But this is more about bring out ambience than using slightly longer delays to make super wide bollocks. Plus it is mono-compatible. It's not anything you can't do yourself (if you have bloody ages), but it's very well implemented. Well, I heard the K-Stereo examples and they are good - not tried this yet.
But no, it won't make dem bare bare pahtt and criss dough, get me.
