I've just downloaded it, its actually not to bad, a few littles bits here and there i wouldn't entirely agree with myself, just noticed a typo there as well:

"House bass: 44khz - 20khz - Prominent frequency 220hz "

yeah i disagree with most of this guide.

It seems that in every step theres compression involved which is totally unnecessary.

Also the 'How To Make a Proper Dubstep Wobble – Secrets Revealed!' and 'Making a killer bass' are absolute tosh. Just goes on about envelopes. Barely even touches the synthesis part!

By adding a low cut at 100hz, using aggressive compression with a ratio of 6 to 8:1 and a very fast attack setting (1.5 - 3.5 ms), with about 8DB gain reduction then adding a 3/4DB mid boost (3-5khz) and high boost (6-8khz) the kick drum will stand out a lot more in the mix."

Compressing your kick to that level will punish your kick, and will sound floppier than a floppy disk with an erictile disfunction. Saying this, the boosting at the high end will add some pressure.

It is just a ltd company being used. I am a director of one myself that I use for tax reasons. They prob run a few small businesses online selling things all thru the same company.

I have a feeling the guide tho was written by someone who is doing well right now selling music but I could be mistaken.

Actually this is right, the kick drum is the most important part and should be the loudest! 0db digital and +3 analog is bang on. The bass should be peaking around 1 or 2db under the kick and compressing them together will ensure the bass peaks at 0db on the parts were there is no kick. Exactly like 'examination of time' by Noah D, that's why that track sounds to damn hard.

isn't 0db just under red?! maybe that is where you want your kick if you are limiting your track to stick on a CDR to test on systems but you would not want it like this to send to ME I think.

yes, making and mixing a track you need your levels low to stop the master from peaking. The reason that Examination of time's kick is reaching 0db is because of the mastering / limiting envolved making it reach that level, it doesnt start at that level. Read the mixing and mastering thread. Macc (a mastering engineer) explains all!
