I've been looking for a while now for some software which is easy to use and lets me mix tracks together and was wondering what you guys recommend. All i want to do is mix my favorite tracks together, so I don't need anything too extreme but something that will get the job done.
Any help would be much appreciated
peace!

You didn't specify whether you wanted to mix live (like a dj) or just 'add two songs together' and bounce down to one file.
For the DJing, try Mix, a free dj program along the same lines as traktor and serato.
Otherwise, Audacity is free and can import multiple files across different tracks. It also has a 'bounce as mp3' option in the file menu. Wavesaur is another free audio editor that does all the same things.
Or try Reaper, although it isn't technically 'free', it allows many more things to be done like the adding of vst plugin effects. grab it here --->
