Every one time in the month i have this fucked up painful migraine attack. I try to sleep but my head feels like knives stabbing my brain one this one spot, always the same spot (right above my right eye). Sometimes i'm having so much pain i have to throw up. I'm shouting softly trying to ignore the pain. I can't eat or drink, just thinking of food makes me sick =/ while I'm just having a head ache :s Even taking multiple aspirins or dafalgans won't help.
I find that when i've not slept enough, or when my sleep pattern is completely fucked (like when it's vacation) i'm getting these attacks.

I was wondering if there were so i'm me peeps here who also suffer from this. If so, what do you do to control it? (meds, sleep patterns,...)

For me normal painkillers don't work, only the ones meant for migraine and only if I take them early enough. I get it to the point when I go to sleep with mild headache and I think that I'll be all good in the morning, instead I'm woken up by pain in the middle of the night :/ In my case it's definitely stress related. I can go for weeks painless when I'm relaxed and happy. When I start to think too much (yeah...) and stress over things, that's when it hits me.

yeah exactly, sometimes i can also go for weeks, but yeah, when it gets stressy it hits like a real fucking bomb. Yesterday i slept 4 hours, woke up, went back home, back to bed with a mild head ache. And a few hours later i woke up again with really hard attack.

And ok lynn mc, good joke, but you should really understand that this is nothing to laugh with. This is not the same as normal pain, like cutting your finger. This is something in your head, something that really fucks things up there. I'm serious, I wouldn't wish this to anybody.

2manynoobs, a lot of pharmacies in Belgium have the same recipe for a very powerful pill against it. When you feel the attack coming and you pop one of them, it goes away almost instantaneously.
I don't know the exact name of the recipe, but it's caffeine 65 mg, Paracetamol 200mg and Isopropylfsnazone (can't read it too well) 150mg

I advice you to get it since it works with everybody I know.

You should ask your pharmacist. And about the caffeine thing, as you found out yourself already, it stimulates the working of paracetamol & ibuprofen.

Sumtripaton is the only real thing that can stop it before it starts. I posted a link to it, I have it on repeat prescription and always carry a dose in my wallet as I get cluster headaches

i heard about cluster. That sounds even more painful =/

Haven't had an attack for over a year, my brother stopped getting them in his late twenties so I am hoping the same for me.

I was told my a doctor once that it's just a bold claim big companies make to charge you £4 for what's essentially just a box of paracetamol.

The researchers advise people to use common sense: "We're not saying people should stop taking paracetamol or stop taking caffeine products but we advise that when taken together they should monitor the intake more carefully."

Paracetamol itself also causes risk to the liver, but only in high dosages, that's why there's a maximum amount you can take per day. So the same is for paracetamol and caffeine combined.
General rule is: stay under maximum amount/day --> you're ok, go above maximum amount/day --> risk.
See it as beer. One beer wont destroy your liver, but it'll make your liver work harder for a few hours. Drink loads of beer every day and you're fucking up your liver.

So no, it wont kill you or destroy your liver.
