Could be interesting. I'm looking forward to it as Hudmo is such a good producer. Just hope he doesn't get a lot of his creativity VETO'd by record company/pop chart politics.

This would be A LOT better than Rihanna over C&S. If he really wants to make pop he should get onto Ciara, though.

I wouldn't mind getting onto Rihanna or Ciara myself

Currently, the city is resounding to the sound of 'aquacrunk' - the name given to the bass heavy hip hop produced by the likes of Hudson Mohawke.

LOL

It'll always just be leftfield wonky hip hop to me. I don't have anything against sub genres, just sub genres with stupid fucking names.

Well its not a a title of sub genre. just a way of describing it. And I don't expect it to catch on any time soon.

"abstract" or "left field"

works fine

but bass music works well.

Bass music is a good catch-all. That's what people like Boxcutter say they make as they say they don't wanna be pigeon-holed. Fair point, I reckon.

that's what I've started categorizing a lot of stuff on my comp....

I have a big play list where dubstep, "wonky", glitch hop, garage, etc etc etc etc etc etc fall into.

That's amazing, I feel Hudson Mohawke is a very welll producer, nothing out of the ordinary. Anyways, when I 1st came across his stuff I totally thought this guy would kill it makeing pop/r&b/top40hiphop tracks. Whats with people frowning on electronic music artist collaborating with chart toppers???

Same. I've just got it all in a massive playlist and just stick Winamp on random and I get a nice mix of tunes that keeps you on your toes.

And I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some collabs that sound like Polyfolk Dance. Polkadot Blues is my tune of the summer. Perfect of one of the few sunny days we had this year!
