renoise

Post by babylonjunkies » Thu Nov 12, 2009 8:06 pm

ok so i've been hearing people raving about renoise for a while, i did a bit of research and got bored of all the generic sell

so what i want to know is what you guys think of it, what you use it for, its strengths and weaknesses and particularly its usefulness for drums

im currently rocking logic and live and im quite happy. but i just lack a boom drum program. i had the crack for guru and it was sick and i felt as if i had found my one and only true love - but then it cracked out. so im waiting for the new student loan which is bare time away to buy the legit version. but in the meantime...

weaknesses??

it has a 'generate drumkit' button. it's all you need, just your keymapping key span (like akai samplers) VERY easy to slice beats.

give up now

just stick at it after you've bought it, it's cheap and Im honestly amazed why everyone isn't using it. makes me feel sorry for fruityloops users.

Hadn't even looked at Renoise before, looks awkward compared to others but results are what count i guess.

Renoise is the exact opposite of awkward. To my knowledge, it is the easiest sequencer out there.

Yeah, the instrument editor is pretty good too...

Also the Renoise devs are implementing an arranger of some sort.... it will break my balls... won't have to tear my eyes when doing my tracks... realising i need to add a an extra patter here or there and all my automation being completely fucked....

Wish they had some timestretching in there though...

Internal effects are pretty topnotch too

For triplets assign your lpb to 12....
