Dubstep events in FLORIDA?
Dubstep events in FLORIDA?
Hi everyone,
Im moving to the States in December for work, Im really keen to know what the scene is like there. I like the big wobbly stuff (brostep-lol) but Im really into the slightly deeper side of things, are there any nights that accomodate for this?
I've checked the events section but wanted to make sure Im not missing anything!

GET LOW @ The Vagabond, downtown Miami. Once a month on Thursdays w/ special guests every month. Presented by (((SHAKE))) & BassHead Music. Resident Dubstep/Bass djs: Juan BassHead & Otto Von Schirach, but there are 3 areas of music, (2 indoor/1 outdoor) where a wide variety of music is played. Banging Funktion 1 sound system. Past guests include Joker & mc Nomad, N-Type, Mala, Borgore, Joe Nice, dj Lord, somejerk, and a bunch more. It's $10 to get in, less if you send your name in to be put on the reduced list. Keep up with what's going on @ Get Low here: http://www.facebook.com/#/pages/Miami-F ... 3888366359
ARCADE @ The White Room, downtown Miami, every Saturday. Presented by Embrace & Overthrow Miami. Resident djs: Damaged Goodz, Troy Kurtz!, Juan BassHead, and the Future Sound of Breaks djs. This event features a wide variety of music and headliners, spread over 2 rooms of sound and a spacious outdoor patio. Past guests include BassNectar, Drop The Lime, dj Klever, 12th Planet, Mixhell (the dj alias for the drummer from Sepultura), a Wednesday night one-off w/ Skream & Benga, plus many others. Upcoming guests include Rusko, dj Craze, Mathew Dear, Mattie Safe (of The Rapture), and more. I make sure there is always a dose of dubstep, regardless of who the headliner is that particular week. This one is also $10, but you can get in cheaper if you get on the list. http://www.embracepresents.com for more info.
There are a bunch of one-offs and smaller monthly events that happen in the Miami area as well. Check http://www.MiamiDubstep.com, sign up to the Miami Dubstep group on facebook, keep an eye on the events section on this website, check out http://www.floridadnb.com 's main forum and http://www.floridadubstep.com, and add me on myspace or facebook: Juan BassHead / http://www.bassheadmusic.com
Also, I should include the fact that we (Miami) host the Winter Music Conference every March, which is a wet dream for most electronic music lovers. It's my favorite week of the whole year.
What part of Florida are you moving too? There is stuff poppin' off in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Tallahassee and other cities. The bigger cities obviously have more going on than other places, but there is something within driving distance from pretty much anywhere you're at.

I'm driving down from Tampa to Miami to see Rusko in december at the white room. Do you know if its 21+ or 18+? Also I can't find much going on here in Tampa either.

I'm pretty sure every event in downtown Miami is 18+. There are probably some exceptions but usually its 18+ at least for ladies.borrowed wrote:

Tampa has some stuff poppin' off; I'm not an expert but I believe most of the time dubstep djs share billing with DnB djs, which is fine by me. Keep checking all those forums I posted about before and you should hopefully find something to your liking. I may be playing out there on Dec 12th, but it's not locked in and the clocks ticking. I'll make sure to post about it in the events section if/when it happens.
