I'm a big fan of Black Metal 'cause it's like the pantomime of heavy music. Everything about it is hilarious. As much as I love it you have to take it all with a pinch of salt. So are there any other fans?

I used to be heavy into Black Metal back in the day. Still listen to a little bit now and then. I was never into the whole 'hail satan' side of Black Metal though I must say, I much prefer the ambient/atmospheric side of things. A Forest of Stars is the most recent example I can think of.


The scene itself can go fuck off though, you thought DSF was full of chin strokers.

aye man that A Forest Of Stars album was a peach. really enjoyed that one.

i've definitely drifted away from metal in general over the past couple of years but one band in particular has stayed in constant rotation: Paysage D'Hiver

Yeah man, they still make it onto the ipod once in a while, done some really nice ambient stuff. Couple more bands:

Urfaust
Haine Noire
Forest Silence

I like a couple of Darkthrone and Deathcult songs but I prefer Black Doom Rock.

Hellhammer FTW!!! Amazing band and drummer. Frost is the only other drummer to come close in my opinion.

I listened a lot black metal a few years ago. Actually one of my favorites was Burzum, also his 2 latest ambient albums were pretty interesting, although he has a strange ideology.

The problem is that my remarks aren't really homophobic. What I do is simply point at the obvious facts; some black metallers dress, walk, talk, look and act like stereotypical homosexuals. Both the black metallers in question and the stereotypical homosexuals obviously buy their clothes, their make-up and jewellery from the same "laces & leather" shops. They wear the same clothes, the same make-up and the same jewellery. So they do dress and look like the stereotypical homosexual. End of discussion.

more partial to death metal but i do like nifelheim and emperor

death metal is cool too. there's been a lot of cool shit this year and last year. proper old school sound revival with the likes of Dead Congregation, Teitanblood, Funebrarum, Putrevore, Vorum etc

Now when it comes to Death Metal I just can't stand this whole 'Gore Metal' shit. If you're into then it's all good but there's only so many songs about being raped by zombies and coat hanger abortions that you can hear.
