Hey, was wondering if someone could help me. Basically I am looking at purchasing some Technic 1210’s, MK5’s to be precise and was wondering if someone could assist me in telling me exactly what it is I need to make it useable straight from the box. I am pretty sure I need a cartridge and slipmats but I am unsure as to whether or not slipmats come provided. As you can probably tell I am new to the whole vinyl turntable thing but keen to get into it

Would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what it is that I am going to need and possibly recommend some at a reasonable price, I’m thinking a 50 pound budget cap for the cartridges. I guessed this place would be the best in providing suggestions.

Checklist for you:

-Decks
-Mixer
-Cable from mixer to amp/hi-fi (the type depends on the input slots of your amp/hifi)
-2 needles and 2 carts
-Slip-mats (you'll get thick rubber mats with them which are useless for mixing).
-Headphones
-Vinyl brush (can get for less than £10- a good investment for cleaning your vinyl)

And the magic ingredient of course, vinyl. I hope you know what you're getting yourself in for, buying vinyl can be an addictive habit

Cheers for the help, i have got the mixer and cables all in place thanks to my current cd deck setup, it was the needles/carts and slipmats which were new to me, thanks for the advice yh i know all about the addiction of vinyl, addicted now and only got a portable usb turntable

MK5s will might end up being more expensive than MK2s, and harder to find for cheap.

Yeah was thinking this actually whats the major differences that i would potentially notice between them?

I dont think theres much of a difference honestly, but I really cant give an educated answer on that.

For all the fighter AMEN!

Two main differences between the mk2 and mk5 is the mk5 has a 8 and 16% pitch range while the mk2 is 8%, the mk5's pitch slider doesent have that lock at 0.
I'm pretty sure an other differences are minuscule, just wiki or google it.
