I'll probably end up just mixing at small venues and on internet radio and FM, all dubstep. is this gear good enough to pass?
im thinking about getting two stanton t.52b's @around 100 bucks each
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Stanton-T-5 ... 1427531.gc
and a stanton m212 for around 50
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Stanton-M21 ... 1427527.gc
passable?

You should really post this up in the production part of the forum.

Don't see why it should be in the production forum, has nothing to do with making music.
I'd try and find a different pair of decks, one's which aren't belt drive but direct drive.
The mixer however looks fine for learning on.

DJing has a high start up cost which is unavoidable, just get technics cause they are the industry standard, i got some second hand vestax and they are great but they ain't technics :/

Yeah just grab 1210's and a vestax mixer to start you off if you can.
If you can't get a decent deal from ebay just keep your eyes peeled on gum tree if you're in the UK or Ireland.

Example.....
Technics 1210 mkII Turntables x 2 and Numark Mixer (£300)

if they're in good condition, 300boys is a good price for the decks alone

Hell yeah.
300 is a steal for those decks and the mixer.
If you live in Edinburgh......are looking for a steal.....that is it!

Why the f is it an issue to have not started with 1210’s? Not everyone can afford them lol! I started mixing when I was 12/13 and although the majority of time was in youth clubs on 1210’s, when I was at home I had some swag numark belt drives..
