Difference in Fl Studio & Logic [recording]

Post by omegamystik » Fri Nov 27, 2009 1:20 am

Hi Everyone! I use Fl Studio and Logic side by side, both computers specs are almost exact but I'm noticing when I play out melodies with my AXIOM in Logic, it records it perfectly. When I record in FL Studio with the same AXIOM I have to go in and move the blocks to where they should have been recorded in piano roll.

Is there a setting in FL Studio I can set to have it record the notes more accurately? I really appreciate it, I've been searching everywhere in here and in the DAW itself!

is it possible it has to with buffering or any other options in the audio settings screen? I know if I have clicking coming through [audio interface: Firebox] I can change the audio rate to fix it [sorry i can't be more specific, I'm at work]

It's :u: :u: :u: there's no way I can compose with it peforming the way it does because you can never get any natural feel... it always records the notes way off by a second or 2. I've also tried FL Studio 7 and 8, same thing happens.

Any ideas?

I'm at work again so I'll check when I get home but you are referring to Logic when you're talking about recording quantise right?

I hope theres a setting like that in FL Studio because I'm more apt to use that when recording, most of my vsts are there opposed to Logic....

Does anyone else have a problem when recording anything with their midi controllers [my padkontrol is never accurate either]?

Just so everyone knows, this is a brand new custom built pc, XP PRO SP2, 4 gigs of ram, 2.3 core duo AMD processor [If I'm remembering correctly, 1 terabyte drive... So I don't believe it has anything to do with the computers specs.
