How to make that sound? (Not Wobble)

Post by kierz » Thu Dec 03, 2009 3:02 am

Theres a significant sound I've heard in quite a bit of dubstep recently, I dont want to copy it exactly, just see how its made and maybe adapt on it.

It sounds like a opening filter on a bass patch or a vocoder of some sort.

Check out trolley snatcha, its heard in a lot of his stuff you can hear the exact sound im talking about in the "bigman vulture" track, its the first noise made on the drop, sounds like somebody saying "YAR".

Any ideas?

A spam-bot that just posts 'formant filter, bit crush, eq, repeat' would actually be quite usefull on here.

if youre using massive you can use 'modern talk', set the lfo to the 1st knob (i forget what its called and im at work so cant check) set the rate to about 1\4. this will give you the YAR sound. then distort or crush
