........Has it turned into a big promotion mega-thread?

What would happen if the mods made stickies for: 1.Productions/Releases 2.Events 3.Mixes? would this leave the main part of this forum empty?

I'm not saying i dont post up mixes and tunes etc nor am i saying theres anything wrong with it, im saying nothing seems to be happening and theres a lot of new members just posting up either a new tune available at beatport/etc or a tracklist-less mix, this is the reason why the once very busy Defected forum closed.

agree that productions/releases, mixes, and events subforums would be a good idea

I'd agree the main forum is like that. But the House forum is good.
Only really checkin this sub forum a lot anymore for music. Apart from having great sense of musicality, it reminds me of the main forum a few years back- just lots of enthusiastic interest and vibes. And not many repetitive threads - you not getting any "is house getting too commercial/selling out" threads anytime soon
A lot of the content might be productions promotion, but its a good way to get stuff out there for others to hear and get an idea of what people think.

yh man i agree!!

Im not saying that at all,im totally neutral to this, just trying to guage a general opinion. im all for people getting their stuff on here and getting it heard, ive done it loads in the past and really appreciate the support from people on here. but thats all its seemed to descend into and that repetitiveness does drive user interaction down.

People put events flyers in here, but no one writes up a review of the night to entice people to possibly reach the next one, theres a lot of producers here, but no threads on production tips, vst's etc and thats my point, if there wasnt the promotional threads, what would there be?

dont think theres enough content on here to warrant more moderation

but i would like to see more disccussions rather than "xyz producer" appreciation threads etc

to be honest, i'd rather have threads showcasing tunes & mixes than the same discussion going round like in the main room. The music does the talking which is how it should be.

More production stuff would be good though

Needs to be a happy medium though. At the moment it's mostly promotion.

In my opinion, all these wishes would lead to more work for the moderators.

But if there are these wishes, and the moderators need support, i would like to help them moderating this house sub-forum.

What do you think?

Im with this. Id rather have music thrown at me than discussion. Music is the reason we are here afterall. I come on this section far more than the main one nowadays simply because there is far more quality stuff to listen to/be shown/find out about

out of question, what do you think should be talked about in the "house" section. tis not a "house" forum and anything off topic should be found in the hideout. Am I missing something because to me, you can find everything to do with house in here, not that I post often in here... But I do read it a lot.

i find rolling threads impossible to keep up with and also they alienate new people

if you wanna post chat topics that are non-promo post them innit i dont see the problem
