Wouldn't be surprised if there were more virii and bacteria doing shit like this without us noticing yet.... apparently there's quite a common virus with flu-like symptoms that, once "cured" increases your ability to put on weight for the rest of your life - it was mentioned in the "Why Are Thin People Not Fat" Horizon: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00hbsk2
It amuses me that people are more worried about vaccinations than diseases these days.

It's fucking amazing how parasites can change the behaviour of their host organism. Changes, that can be subtle or drastic, that will increase the chance of the parasite spreading.
Pretty fucking mad that around half of the UK population have this parasite in their brains and there's nothing we can do about it....
