Hello,
My name is Moif and I'm co-label owner of a Breaks based label called Brighton Breaks and I'm also co-Station Manager of Brap.FM, a Brighton based internet radio station.
We've got 2 successful releases under our belt on the Brighton Breaks label with a 3rd coming out on January 15th. Check them out at:
BRAP002 and BRAP001
Both releases hit the top of the charts when they were released and we've had reports of poeple seeing our tunes on the shelves in shops as far as Sydney, Australia. They're probably a bit too funky for some tastes here but we are aiming at a certain crowd to get the name out. That's not to say that further on down the line we won't expand that idea. Nothing is set in stone at this stage!
Our station is doing alright at the moment with a steady listener base growing all the time. We have both DJs *and* established promotors onboard from all over the world, not just Brighton, including Brazil and Canada.
Currently we're weekend based but we have plans to start a Thursday night in the New Year. If that goes well we'll start on a Wednesday in February and so on until we're 7 days a week.
We've only been going for 2 months but feedback has been great. We're doing OBs with our first one on New Years Eve at Slackers Convention in Brighton and we're hoping to broadcast at events around Brighton and the surrounding areas on a regular basis over the coming months. Our ethos is quality over quantity hence the reason for not going balls out and trying to fill slots 24/7.
We've got all sorts of stuff going out from Breaks to DNB and House to Downtempo and even an 80's - 90's Rock show. We're constantly on the lookout for new styles to bring in and having recently discovered Dubstep I'm looking for someone from the Dubstep scene to fill our Friday 12am - 2am GMT slot. Given the timezone it could be suited to someone Stateside. The slot is 3 out of 4 Fridays so you'd get a week off.
I'd really like to get some Dubstep in that slot so if you think you might be interested then please head over to http://www.brap.fm and make yourself known. Post up a link to a mix, a brief Bio and anything that would help swing the vote your way.
You'll need a stable net connection, a mic (personality helps!), some kind of mixing device (decks, CDjs, Traktor, reel-to-reel, makes no odds to us) and the ability to mix 2 tunes together. Oh and bags of dedication is a must-have.
Thanks for your time.
Fill our slot!
