It's nearly 4am here and I finally was able to break away from Logic for a bit.

I was just wondering how much time other people spent poring over their tracks each week?

10-40.. really varies, but almost alwaysa couple of hours as soon as I get in from work. Seems the most productive time... after 8 hours in the office there's not much I'd rather do!

Not long enough! Manage a couple hours here or there of a weekday evening (I usually do an evening class once a week too, which is good for a solid few hours), sometimes get some extra time during the weekend but it is totally dependent on what else is going on.

If I could spend 10+ hours a day doing it I would! Not a snowballs chance these days though... :(

2 hours after work if I am lucky. I am busy doing other things at the weekend so in total I may get about 3 or 4 days a week if I am lucky after work. Sometimes I wont get a spare hour all week to sit down:(

Loads of producers who are doing well right now started off making music at a young age also. It really does take a lot of time to learn things by urself at home unfortunately:(

Use ur time wisely! :)

Minimum 20-30 hours per week.. even when working a full time job, plus I am married with 2 kids.

When I am not working full time, it goes up a bit, but I usually use the extra time practicing cello.
Bottom line is - it is always possible to find enough time to work on music, no matter what your schedule.

Something that has been working for me recently, is that I work for 30 minutes everyday before getting the kids ready for school (while having my first cup of coffee). I think the combination of still being half-asleep & dreaming plus knowing I have a very finite amount of time to sketch out new ideas is a winner, cos I usually am able to sketch out a new idea every morning. When I come back to it later in the day, if it still sounds like a good idea, I'll hash it out. If not, I might cannibalize it for parts or just put in the "tinker with later" pile... But it has been great for getting a constant stream of new ideas out.

Really varies tbh, being 18 I don't go to college anymore and I just work part time although I have been doing alot of overtime.

Well, lets see. I'm usually working my day job for 40-45 hours a week. Then I get about 25-30 Hours a week in for production...wish I had more time...i need a clone.
