Post by p.t.b.d » Mon Dec 21, 2009 12:16 pm

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any of these things
where they don't just play wobble

i dont think a non wobble night for under 18s is likely to draw a vast crowd, and i dont think many venues are likely to go for it tbh

I wish there was  .

But tbf i dont think there is gonna be audience big enough for one, on this forum there cant be many over 20 under 18's who are into deeper stuff. In the summer when me and Coppola were on the under 16's rinse course Soljah mentioned that she wanted to put on some rinse/fwd under 18 dubstep nights. I guess that would mean Youngsta and maybe some other deeper names would play.

Why do you need $5000? Seems silly.

I used to put on shows at the Freebutt in Brighton for over-16s when I was 16. Only cost about £50 to hire the venue and I used to make about £500 in door money.

I'm sure you could find something similar.

There are loads of young talented DJs that would I'm sure would play for travel money.

Do it.

Lots of nights get done by under 18s in Belgium. Just rent a small pub/room (don't you have these special pubs done by teens in the UK?) for one night that has a decent soundsystem, would cost about £100, maybe more, maybe less. Worst case scenario is that you need to rent an extra sub.
Then you just book some local talent, they don't ask much, they probably only ask for some drinks that night.
And flyers? You don't need that shit for a small night anymore, you got facebook.

If your first night goes well, enough people came, enough drinks were sold, you can do a second night, maybe with a bigger name (but don't go to fast).

They ran some production and djing courses in London in the summer. Was pretty fun, met Scratcha, Geeneus, Spyro, Joker and a few other names. If you werent so far north i would of told you to come lol.

Yeah as everyone's said. Just try make your own night!

If you're serious about it you could do it and probably successfully. Maybe get a promoter local to you to help you out on it if you're unsure.

Make a thread on here and plea for DJs etc. Reckon you could do it pretty cheap tbh.
