NYE Masked Ball
31 December 2009 / 9pm-5am

Free glass of bubbly (before11pm) - Free goodie bag - Chill out room - Party games - Prize draws - Bouncy castle - Food

First off we have the Carny Villains - if any of you have been along to the Invisible Circus shows at the Old Fire Station they're the fantastic carnvillesque band that perform there. Expect excessive can-canning on the dance floor to these guys. This is followed by the marvellous Mandibles - a seven piece Gypsy Jazz band who will bring on the trumpets, saxophone, double bass for more foot stomping, thigh slapping action.
Then the Rinky Dinks - what can I say about these guys? When I heard their ukulele rendition of Hendrix's 'Fire' I just knew they'd be perfect for getting everyone into a frenzied shape-throwing state as we see in 2010.

Once we hit 2010 (and after a cheeky prize draw when we'll be bestowing even more gifts on your good selves) we'll be switching skiffle for dub...first to play on Jan 1 will be Krypt Orchid. They're a three piece dub act with some heavy beats balanced with soft vocals from the lovely China Bristol. They're an up and coming act with bags of talent and we expect great things from them in 2010.

Then an act that need no introduction: Rob, Ray and Peter will be out in full force to give us an extended Smith & Mighty set. These Bristol Sound originals are going to give us a hearty helping of breakbeat and bass, with the sound that put Bristol on the international music radar.

Finally, if it's not past your bedtime, Subplate will be finishing off the night with a seriously heavy dose of ragga infused drum'n'bass DJ set.

There is no dress code other than masks - from masquerade to Batman, the Phantom of the Opera to Jason, or something inbetween! As long as you've got a mask on, you'll fit right in!
