Yes absolutely .
If u want to get a bit more technical about it the base elements for a portion of the earth's composition were created in the crucibles of imploding Red Giants Like Betelgeuse and Antares or in the center of super dense white dwarfs.

Man that is nuts, its got me rushing! So amazing to think actually how vast that is. I used to find space and the universe frightening, because it removes meaning from life, rendering everything insignificant. But its funny, now I find it soothing and re-assuring for the same reason. I guess it depends on where you’re at in your life. Thanks for that anyways

keep bringing the interesting facts!

That sort of thing makes me feel a bit sick. Not the slack Uranus thing, the original post.
Reading some book about superstring theory and whatever* and it does my head in.
*could I sound any less academic?

you are welcome .
puts things in perspective huh?
as far as the meaning thing goes- the only thing for me that would remove meaning from life is my own choice to remove that meaning.
I can see where lack of meaning would feel comforting I think in many ways this what budhist's meditate for in a way.
Objects or the absence of objects are meaningless until I imbue them with meaning.
Some objects seem to have more or less meaning based on various factors that I wont go into now cuz i am tired.

did you know that the reason we see lesser white dog poo on the street is because circa 1996 it was deemed unhealthy for dogs to ingest so much charcoal
so they removed it
now it stays soggy and sticky for longer
bad for your nikes, great for dogs

the problem that i have is that at times i find it hard to maintain that perspective and control over what things should be allocated what value or meaning. i feel that i lack the ability to control my choices in that sense. if you see what i mean? because essentially i believe that one's reality is of your own making, what is 'real' is what you project and perceive, but the key is having control over that faculty, so as to maintain a positive outlook
and things like this help me by shoving me in the appropriate direction. its the same with watching the news - one of the best ways to help me get over personal problems. fucking twisted. this is a more wholesome way to do it, cos it means i dont have to tangle with the guilt of finding personal solace in the relative discomfort of others.

If you drew the solar system to scale, with the earth the size of a pea, pluto would be 200 meters away*. d i a g r a m s in science books by ego-centric earthlings are pretty good at making us look a lot bigger than what we are.
*disclaimer: its something like that

Our galaxy is about hundred thousand light years across, and I'm sure I read that its estimated that there are 100million other galaxies out there varying from 10 thous LY up to fuck-knows how big.
if the galaxy were reduced to 130 km in diameter, the solar system would be 2 mm.
You can't demonstrate that kind of scale with any amount of photoshopping.
It is a crazy thought. But quite relaxing I feel.
total perspective vortex anyone?
