Martyn goes deep dutch on Radio 1's Essential Mix. Martijn Deykers, aka Martyn, is a producer/DJ based in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He started out playing Drum & Bass in the mid-nighties, before settling on a mix of dubstep and techno on his brilliant debut album 'Great Lengths'.
He released his second album, 'Ghost People', on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label in late 2011. He also runs the 3024 label, named after his post code in Holland, putting out music by the likes of Mosca and Julio Bashmore.

I saw him a month or two ago with Egyptrixx in Montreal and his mixing was absolute trash. literally the least fluid set I've ever heard... really abrupt transitions, pretty much stopped/started each song at the intro/outro so that there'd be a 2 minute break between each song with no beat. awful. maybe it was just this one time though...

productions are pretty great though.

I saw him on that tour too and it must have just been that night... he was amazing at the show I was at.

ghost people was something else, especially we are you in the future.

wonder if any of the former dubstep/techno crossover producers like martyn will go back to making 140 stuff again tho. gatekeeper's new release reminds me a lot of the stuff coming out about 2008/9 (one of the best times for dubstep imo).

not like i'm complaining though i like a lot of the bassy house/techno stuff coming out (as long as it's not too bland/formulaic/derivative etc.)

Must have been an off night...ive seen him twice and he was on point both times.

He's so good.

One of my favourites... look forward to seeing him live one day.
