Im looking at buying myself a new compressor and was just wondering if anyone has any experiance of these two and which one they prefer?

Or can anyone recommend a better compressor that's in my price range. which is £500.

both the ART TLA and tape op are great.

it might be the only ART unit that's worth looking at tho-- i had a TCS for a while that was decidedly not awesome. the TLA is a quality, beefy limiter tho.

FWIW, if you're looking for clean, controllable compression, this isn't it. in that price range, an RNC would do you much better. but if you want some edgy, non-transparent limiting, i've always enjoyed what i've heard out of 'em.

Cheers for the replies.

think im leaning towards the art pro, macc replied to me on the other forum and he said he'd go for that over the tla audio one aswell. im basically looking to push my bass etc through it to beef them up abit.also tubes im told can colour your sound alittle aswell which is exactly what im after.

from what i read though, it looks like i should upgrade from the stock tubes that come with it. can anyone reccomend some good ones?
