His solo stuff blows the chillis out of the water. Got 10 or so releases by him, thebest being Smile from the streets you hold and DC EP.

The earlier stuff is a lot more raw due to smack addiction etc. The first track I posted is an early one and the dc ep is a later one so you can see the difference.
Brilliant musician and we have the same birthday!!!!!

Ace musician, my vote for one of the best musicians in the last century at least!
And I though 'Smile from the streets you hold' got deleted?

He's an incredible musician and has a very unique voice. Can't believe he managed to learn how to play properly again after the addictions almost ruined him. Respect for him making it through.

I'm sorry but Smile from the streets you hold is seriously shit and embarrassing.
However Niandra lades and usually just a t-shirt is really good and the "Raw" style works well:
For his more listener friendly music:

Nah I love Smile... apparently he thinks it's some of the best music he's written as well.

I read somewhere that he is ashamed of it musically and the reasons why he made it

He made it to get drug money and withdrew it from the market in 1999 but he's since stated that he thinks it contains some of his finest material and wants to re-release it someday.

I was in a Guitar Center on Sunset in LA somewhere in the '90's buying a bass guitar and he came in. He could barely walk. He had someone half carrying him. He was largely bald, with bruises all over his body. He couldn't hold a guitar. He was trying to get some device to play chords. Just press a button for the chord. Guy was nearly dead. He got a hold of this device, and just started playing three chords over and over again. Honestly didn't think he was going to make it. Seriously was close to death and just wanted to play chords.
