Ok, so what is on all your dream wish lists? anything goes (keep it audio production) Just imagine you have an infinite amount of money to spend on your dream setup, what would it be ?
Pictures would be cool, and please don't be jokers and post up pics of a 80 walkmans or something (although that may appeal to some people here! )
I want one of those 400,000 dollar mixing desks they have at big ass studios.

for real though-- the few times i've had my mitts on a proper fairchild, it's been life changing. it's the 1 bit of gear out there that will make something sound the way you envisioned it.
macc'll tell you i think it's 'hairy'

This thread, for a recovering gear whore, is a bar to an alcoholic. I'll stay outside.

I was lucky enough to go there withy my college. Yeah that main room looks like the star ship enterprise, but the other recording spaces are INSANE. They have a 'wood room' so you can record your drums in a big old empty wooden barn. (http://realworldstudios.com/Recording_S ... ooden_Room)
read it up, its crazy.

i just posted loads of shit and my browser just fucking vanished
anyway, no pics this time...
an ems vcs3, an alesis andromeda, a sequential circuits pro 1 (and a midi-cv converter), a thermionic cultre vulture, a fairchild compressor, an elysia m-pressor, a pair of 1176's, an emt plate, a roland space echo or a copycat or something like that, a great british spring, a neve or ssl desk, a studer multitrack reel-to-reel, some barefoot monitors and a superbly treated room, plus loads more shit that i cant think of right now.

Mint condition Roland d20 was on my list from 1993 to 2009. Picked it up last year off ebay.

Yeah its a crazy place, it would be so enjoyable mixing a track in that room. Very jealous you went there too

isn't real world the one that's got the stream running under a glass floor?
having spent untold hours in dark, stuffy boxes of studios working on music-- that'd be a nice change.
and I'd rather have the STAFF @ real world than try to figure out what to do w/ a 128-channel SSL that would cause my apartment building to cave in... and shut down the electricity.

incidentally how is that compressor (3630) for a shitty sounding compressor? i don't know much about hardware compressors but i've heard of people using the 3630 in dance music, although i don't know if they're being serious or not because everywhere else it seems to be shitted upon. i wouldn't want a transparent compressor, i'd be just running an mpc, machinedrum and micron into it. nothing fancy.
any on my to buy list hardware wise is the access virus ti snow and possibly the dave smith tetra.
