Ms Pinky and Ableton

Post by kinggraham » Tue Jan 19, 2010 7:46 pm

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience of using Ms Pinky with Ableton. Is it possible? Do I have to be a computer genius to make it possible? Any help would be much appreciated. I've been toying with the idea of getting Serato but the price is a bit of a turnoff at the moment and I would like to have a more tactile approach to my digital mixes without breaking the bank, and Ms Pinky seems quite affordable. I've been using Ableton for a while now so I like putting mixes together in it, but the hip-hop DJ inside of me misses the scratching.

I don't think you can control Live using Ms Pinky. It doesn't send midi signals, but audio ones and Live doesn't know how to interpret that.

There might be some work around though...

I got Ms. Pinky for christmas. Already had ableton Intro.

I like it, it is just as good as traktor/serato for playing your MP3's back via vinyl. The package comes with 4 records, and a bunch of software. There is a standalone app that allows you to mix your audio media, a standalone app that lets you mix audio and video via the TT. Then there is PinkyVST.

I like to use ableton, pinkyvst on 2 tracks, and then other tracks set to grab and replay stuff I'm doing from the decks.

The standalone app sends MIDI out. It sends CLOCK for sure and can be set up so the vinyl velocity can send out MIDI CC's

+1 for Ms. Pinky. I'm sold
