This has been happening for days now, it's fine through my phone but each time I try on the laptop, my mac or my PC I get:

Then sometime later it'll work again for an hour or two before shitting out again. Anyone else having trouble?

It is huge, but it surprises me that it is 'only' that big. I bet they have dozens of CDN servers in every continent too!

If you think that's big you should look up some information on Google's datacentres.
I think they're even filling caves now with those server containers from Sun Systems.

facebook itself is a godsgift.
It makes it possible to easily communicate with people from all over the world, but especially it's easy to FIND contact with other people. Also flyering for parties and events etc are great. Facebook is like an interface within the internet for all the people to connect. It won't take long before hotmail and other email services will die because facebook has it all, imo.
The only down part are those rumors of facebook selling info to companies or facebook being owned by CIA, which is bs imo but you never know..

And people should stop whine about facebook lagging or bugging. Be happy that it is free.
