I remember, about 6/7 years ago, when i first started talking to mates over AOL (as a dial up ISP) and yahoo and if someone ever said anything funny that actually made you laugh, we typed LOL. If someone said something that was funny but not LOLable, we would tpe "haha".

Now it seems the opposite.

I find myself typing LOL even if i didnt find something funny, i just type it because its something to type.

If i actually find something funny, i tend to type "hahhhahahhahahaahhaha" or something along those lines.

I've never, to my knowlage, ever type ROFL or LMAO or ROFLMAO etc etc because, well, i dont think ive ever actually rolled on the floor laughing.

Dont really know what im trying to say or ask, just thought id type something ROFLMAOOL

I think its just used as filler. Or like indicating that something could be funny. But not laughable. I barely laugh at anything on the internet though, most of it is just chan humour.

People raped LOL when they started using it to finish their own sentences.

and it really rubs me up the wrong way when people actually SAY it. Somone at work said it the other day and i just looked at them for about 30 seconds and then just uttered the word..... "what?"

I rarely ever actually 'laugh out loud' and when I do I usually add an expletive to add enthesis to a true laugh out loud moment.

I do admit to over using LOL in this case then but its usually added to show that I do find something funny, but am laughing on the inside, or added to show others that im trying to be funny.

Plus L and O are close on the keyboard than H and A...

Never once have I used LMAO or ROFL and should I ever say LOL in a real life conversation then I fully welcome and expect to receive a punch in the face.
