With January under our belts, a month in which we welcomed Appleblim, Oneman, Untold and Shortstuff to grace our wheels of steel, it seemed only right to continue into February with the same, forward thinking artists spinning progressive dubstep, future garage, funkstep and all the other sub- genre names we can think of / make up. February is gonna be a big month with Aka Aka Roar and we are over the moon about the artists we have lined up. This week being BRACKLES and GREENA.

Emerging from beneath a pile of Garage records and battered kicks to become one of the country’s most sought-after DJ's, BRACKLES now commands as much respect in the studio as he does in the club. Having released two singles on Planet Mu, completed work for Data Records, Polydor and No Hats No Hoods, and put out mixes for FACT magazine, XLR8R and radio DJs including Mary Anne Hobbs, Sinden and Toddla T, to quote a certain Mr Appleblim, BRACKLES is definitely a "badman DJ". He blurs the lines between 2step, dubstep, house and grime and moulds it into an uncatigorisable but definitely recognisible form of music tailored to keep you on the dancefloor all night. So you must be thinking he's from Bristol or London right? Wrong actually, he's from a small village outside of Tring in Hertfordshire - the gospel is spreading!

Since Aka Aka Roar met GREENA about a year ago a lot has changed. He's recently been signed to Applepips and is one of the best new producers coming thorugh ("Actual Pain" is a stone cold classic!) He's getting quite a name for himself as a DJ on the circuit, his Fact mix was counted as one of the top 100 mixes of last year and when left to his own devices can grow quite in impressive afro for a white dude! He also can get lost anywhere, so if you see a man walking aimlessly down the seafront holding a record bad, please point him in the direction of Life, for all our sakes.
