Toilet attendents...

so, what's the deal with having some guy sit in the toilet all night to turn the tap on for you??

i don't understand why clubs think this is a good idea.. what impression are they trying to give??

most of the guys doing the job are safe.. but still, it is a bit long feeling like you have to give someone a quid every time you take a piss..

what's it all about?

well don't give them a quid then. if you are using some of the aftershave or taking a lolly. how ghey  anyways, then fair play maybe a donation.

I mean I only tip if the service requires it and I feel that the staff have gone that little bit extra on their job that warrants the little bit extra I'll tip.

What I don't like is people that expect to get tipped for doing something other that what they already get paid for.

I think attendant could be replaced with security if you know what I mean.

to discourage the use of consumable and people having sex in toilets without the door being closed thats why they are there

up here they arent hired by the bar/club, they get permission and set up independently (providing their own lollies/aftershave etc), so its generated a new trade for people, generally up here its new immigrants

i think its ok, they're always really nice and have good crack in my experience, and i dont mind helping them make their way...

i hate feeling obliged to do anything. parting with cash for water and soap and paper doesn't sit comfortably. but i usualy offset this with getting something back. ie. i usually have a bit of a chat with them and they invariably have great stories so i really don't mind dropping a quid on the metal tray.

Used to work in a bar that allowed attendants. These guys worked half days and could take home 300 squid on a weekend, they all had top drawer banter and knew it wasn't a 'job' but if some mook spewed they would clean it up. Let them be, if you don't want to pay them fine. BIG UP MY HAPPY TOILET BOUNCERS.[/b]

dont mind them at all apart from when your in the club early and its just you two in the toilet and he watches you piss with an odd look in his eye...

often treat myself and give them a quid though for a bit of soap, towel, gum and spray

Had a jolly one on NYE - actually had to take a dump and was a bit surprised to find the toilet door getting kicked in and an apologetic bouncer sheepishly turning away and going "sorry mate".

Now if they'd been checking round the dj booth that would have been another story entirely :D
