Okay, so tonight on Facebook, Excision's status was the following:

Excision: "Golden tonight, playin on a PK rig, can't wait it's gonna be sick "

so... since he's a connoisseur of sound (borderline snob), i took note

i assume its an abbreviation for something?

because googling and doing a search here on the forum resulted in nothing..

but what is a PK rig? hopefully i dont get flamed, im just curious

i hope he was being facetious, because it is an extreme compliment that people would listen to your music even though its "low quality" ...

In the same topic i also said "it's been out for months, either buy it or at least torrent it for good quality!!!"

I stand by all of those statements, I don't think it makes you a snob if you dont enjoy listening to 96kbps mp3's. These youtube channels are ripping tunes from myspace which is already low quality, and then putting it on youtube where its compressed even further. If the tune isn't out yet then I can see why but with a tune thats been available since September then why not listen to it in better quality?

If that makes me a snob then every producer that I know is a snob too!


and yeah, PK is a sound company owned by producer Subvert, he designed the speakers with genres like dubstep in mind, I'm going to be buying a system from them myself in a few months Check out Shambhala music festival here in Canada in August if you want to see what I'm talking about. You'll love it.

I think most of the guys grew up there, but PK didn't really start as a real business until they moved to Calgary.
