this is probly not what you wanted to hear, but there is an awesome book called "the Dance Music Manual" It is a great general resource for electronic music. It is a HEAVY read, only the strong survive!
I would recommend getting a copy of this and reading all of it. It explains a lot of the principles really well imo. You have a lot of reading/studying to do mate!

all those other things can easily be googled too.. you should be combing the net for all this stuff.. do the research!!!
Digital Audio Workstation - an electronic system designed to record, edit and play back digital audio.
Musical Instrument Digital Interface - enables electronic musical instruments such as keyboard controllers, computers, and other electronic equipment to communicate, control, and synchronize with each other.
Virtual Studio Technology - an interface for integrating software audio synthesizer and effect plugins with audio editors and hard-disk recording systems.

and slightly simplified...
DAW - the program you will use to make music.
MIDI - the language used to communicate between hardware, software, and you.
VST - a virtual instrument, a synthizer without the physical packaging.

Start reading. Start watching tutorials. Start staying up all night playing with different sounds and effects on your software. Start making and finishing tracks even though the first 30 tracks you make are going to suck. Don't compare your shit with people who have been making music for years. Listen to other people's stuff and see what they did and where they did it. Pay attention to how people structure their tracks -- where did the hi-hats come in? Where did the bass drop? Do the drums change at all? Does a new synth come in?
Get ready to be frustrated.
More importantly, have fun. Don't take yourself too seriously.
