I find it difficult to work with music on at times, I focus on the music and forget I'm working.

Likewise for me too though I do turn over to radio 3 at 10 am when those frightful feminist harridans pollute the airwaves with woman's hour.

Get Darker podcast is great for on your ipod while your working.
Rinse and 1Xtra are good as well, i find it hard to focus on work without music.

Can't normally have tunes on in the office, but I try to work from home every now and again to catch up with MAH and Electronic Explorations.
If I'm not feeling electroniccy then the Dylan show on 6Music, which is hit and miss but amazing when on point.
If all else fails and I simply can't knuckle down, then I stick on Jurassic 5 - Power In Numbers and that never fails to get me going. Weirdly, I found my ex listening to it a few weeks ago... commented on something about it and she replied "Yeah, it's literally the only thing I can work to".
WTF?

depends on the mood really,
sometimes i need chaos to adapt, sometimes i need speed to keep working straight forward, sometimes i need something calm to empty my head.
the cd's on rotation are generally:
milanese (the one with the woman on it)
dj godfather - the mix for his dvd
slum village (the one where stand in from of a detroit cinema)
the soundtrack for "life is a miracle"
10 tons heavy on planet mu
team shadetek - pale fire
shockout cd compilation
cassettes would be:
the best of cold chillin biz markie
dj rell - some mixtape by this german hip hop dj
...
