what's happened to home listening?

Post by raffia » Thu Jan 28, 2010 11:13 am

is it just me, or r a lot of peeps happy with a crap tiny sound system at home these days?

most of the shops don't sell anything above dem handbag size things you put an i pod into.

and u can't get a proper (loud) portable boombox ting on road either.

Yeah I know enough people happy with their laptop speakers. I can't stand listening to music on anything less than my set up. It's just not enjoyable. They're the same people who'll listen to some ultra compressed youtube video or 64kbps mp3s and be happy despite it sounding like a big pile of shitty noise.

after buying my 1200s and then upgrading mixer ive been skintos for quite awhile. had browsed 2nd hand floorstanders for a long time n i ended up strolling into richer sounds and leaving with these massive bastards:

http://www.richersounds.com/product/flo ... pt-400-blk

picked up a yamaha surround theatre amp for £170 that kicks out 120w per channel, sat speakers on 2 granite slabs from homebase at 4 quid a pop and they BOOM out (they are BIG aswell), not gunna be an audiophiles favourite any time soon but they are pretty much made to fill a room with dubstep, id highly recommend for £150 new!

very smug with my setup now!
