Bristol or Kingston

I have conditional offers at Bournemouth, Kingston and Bristol UWE, but the two I am debating between are UWE and Kingston. I basically just want to have as best time possible for the 3 years as of Sept' 2010. I was just wondering what everyones opinions about both Uni's are like? What the people are like? The music scene (obvs)? And the nightlife?
I wanna get onnit
Would be cool if anyone who goes to either, went to or is deciding also could chip in and let me know

The best way of deciding is to check league tables according to your subject and go for the Uni that's better for you.
Kingston is aight... I live about 20 mins away from there and it's pretty much like any other town.
Music scene is pretty much bog standard. You have an urban night on Mondays at McLuskies.
Oceana is the other big club - they play bog standard stuff too but their urban nights are Wednesday...
Bacchaus is aight for the indie/alternative scene... They have some pretty good live jazz nights around town too...
Not much in the way of dub or dubstep, but then Central/East London isn't THAT far away... (about 30 mins to an hour away depending
on traffic and time of day.)

Bristols obviously much better nightlife wise always loads going on here, though as has been pointed out already Kingston's not too far from the delights of London. You'll probably get more bang for yer buck if you move to brizzle as living costs are a bit cheaper imo What course are you planning on doing anyway mate?.

Yeah, it's fuckin expensive living in the big smoke... deffo would get more for your money elsewhere - Again, Kingston will be cheaper than Westmin/UCL/City etc.. but it's all relative really - If I had the chance to be elsewhere knowing the person I am now (as opposed to the person I was starting Uni,) I'd have gone for Brighton or somewhere else...
Nightlife is somewhat important, but if you're serious about studies and not just skipping work for three years I'd recommend the BBC/Times league tables as your best indicator of where to go - Uni is what you make of it at the end of the day - for example - You could end up at a place with great night-life and leave uni with a 3rd... but also have had a shit time getting to know complete tossers that shouldn't be at uni in the first place, which would be a complete waste of £30k for 3 years of the "experience..." (which you'll be pissed off by at the end of your second year.)
Alternatively you could have a wicked time somewhere more academic...
The point I'm getting at in a long-winded way is that YOUR Uni experience is down to you as a person and the people you choose to integrate with, so your social life is totally independent of academia (unless you only hang with people in your course.) Do what's best for your future and just have a brilliant drug and alcohol induced time along with it.

Big advise cheers

I have been swaying more Bristol way ever since I really thought about it. Whatever I do, I know I'll be well up for a mad time and I'm sure there will be some other like minded peeps. Go skateboarding, hopefully get a slot at a bar or club DJing every now and then and of course

Oh yeah my course is Computing at Bristol, or Computer Science Network Communications at Kingston. I would like to go more into Networking later on in life and Bristol UWE is a fair bit higher than Kingston I think - Although they are both pretty low down in times league

What you studying bruv?? I'm at UWE and yeah it's not the best uni going ( I'm sure it's as good as kingston) But the course I am on is fantastic, the lecturers are top notch and Bristol is an amazing city to live! I would be more than happy to show you around when you get here (that is, if you decide to come) I really can't praise Bristol enough. Vibrant, massive musical scene! Huge nights out at really cheap prices, all the people I have had encounters with have been awesome so, from my view I reckon you should come here mate!!
PM me for any more details, plus if you are a blazer the grade here is good!
