From the photographer:
"The 2 images illustrated on the Starky 12" were taken in Kensington, Philadelphia , just North of downtown. Since the late 1970's the neighborhood has deteriorated into a working class ghetto when many industrial factories closed, leave unskilled laborers without means of support.
I chose to shoot the abandoned stolen car, 2001, to illustrate the surrounding structures with the usually bonus of the scattered but colorful toys all surrounded by some fresh snow."
More info from the photographer

i know it's been said before but the keysound photography has a real strong vibe
perfectly mirrors the urban experience
loads of people go for this and miss
takes talent
(my realisations take time compared to others - but when the penny drops...epiphany ahoy!)

@donga yea man, definitely gives the label a strong sense of Identity, the north side cheng dub is sick artwork.
I used to like Berkane’s picture labels when they did them.

thanks fella, takes me fucking ages to sort it all: find a location that is connected to the artist or the music, get a photographer, go and get some shots, choose the best ones, send to the designer etc, but it always feels worth it...

And I suppose the good thing about your own label is that you haven’t got some know it all suit trying to alter the appearance of your finished product to make it more “marketable” or whatever, it’s just what YOU guys feel the music represents, get me.

yeah, you just gotta put music out you really really believe in tbh. that's my philosophy.

tbh with my label i have no clue
not sure how our design comes across
it's definitely had criticism (and i'm hoping for less of that generally!)
it's not a strong point for me
music's the main priority
but if u get the two things working properly in tandem you're onto the next level
which brings us back to Keysound!!

Your label’s artwork is great donga, don’t know who would complain to be honest, and the tunes speak for themselves!
Fuck it, the next tnuc who moans, chuck him a white label...
