Long time lurker finaly decided to join cuz i have a question that i havent been able to get a good answer from.


Where can i get free good quality female / male acapella's (preferably female) and vocal samples? im looking for a place with a motherload of these so i can just try out hundreds etc... any ideas?

Its hard to find that moverload you speak of man, theres no one place. Accapellas are typically copyright, and therefore you gotta do alot of specific, creative googling if its things like mainstream crunk n stuff your after...

But, you can find SOME stuff on Accapellas4u...

If anyone can suggest somethin better, Im all ears too!

i went to freesound.org and signed up, it's pretty neat... lots of random sounds and voices, you can find singing, words, phrases... not a HUGE selection, but it's mostly high quality, all legal, and pretty good if you want some off the wall samples

Nice one Narcissus, will check that out. Been wondering myself if there were any specific sources for vocal samples, particularly of the 'ooohs and ahhhhs' variety...

Acapellas4U is a fairly good resource, however without knowing exacctly what you are looking for before looking, it can be a bit scattershot!

ccmixter is good for that. People upload their own homemade accapellas and then you can use them for free . Watch out for licence issues though because some are only for not for profit use. That could be a problem if you got signed and stuff.

YOUR secrets? I've done it so much, I like own the patent! The best samples are from late 70's porn, indeed.
However, the biggest database for aca's are torrents and newsgroups. Just type in "Acapella".
