If you don't know the sound I'm talking about, it can be heard in the second track of this mix:

I'm just wondering the basics of how this sound is achieved. If anyone could let me know, I'd appreciate it.

You know, track times can be used to let us know exactly what you mean. i.e. That sound at 2:34. See?

cause if it was the bitcrushers I could have. Sorry man, its rough.

FM sound if you ask me, though, Ive gotten SIMILAR out of waveshape>formantfilter>bitcrush bussing... I wrote a big writeup about the technique in a thread somewhere about vocal bass...

but, youd get this quicker on some kinda FM... n thats not my turf.

try asking in the how do I make this sound thread

Could sample a man with his balls in a vice, I reckon he would be able to make some high pitched sounds for you.

That's pretty close! How did you get that? If you are using reason you can just post the patch file if you want

...and I couldn't find the "how do I make this sound?" thread....I've seen it before, though..

using predator, you could use 2 of the oscilators, the first being a low sub (drop what ever wave youre using by an octave), then the second osc use a spec wave, put it at its highest octave the choose FM next the volume bit, turn it to its full amount. and there you go. also play with the sym. of the wave form on both oscs

basic 64.... switch it to 6bit add wobble and lfo and pitch one of the oscillators to desired tone...
