I hope the whale doesn't get put to sleep or anything. Alot of the headlines seem to be pointing blame at the whale

I'm not anti sea world, but it really is stupid when people blame a wild animal they are keeping confined. It's like they expect them to completely change and ignore their own nature, even the ones born in captivity, simply because they are now part of a theme park. It's like when they kill a bear for attacking someone in the forest. Self defense is one thing, seeking out and "punishing" them for doing what comes natural is another thing IMO...

It's interesting to note that there are virtually no recorded attacks by orcas on humans in the wild, even though they quite obviously are capable of fuckin' up one of us landmonkeys - in fact, killer whales are about the only animals that can take out great white sharks. There've been plenty of documented reports of wild orcas cooperating with fishermen for mutual benefit.

Dolphins can kill sharks too.

Yes, dolphins in groups can kill sharks, but an orca can do it one-on-one with no help. There's some cool video footage floating around of orcas attacking great whites.

Here's one, and this all went down just a dozen miles or so to the West of me.
